what is a good neighborhood to move to in portland OR?
Considering moving to Portland OR. I am checking out the homes there but have no idea which neighborhoods to check. My wife will work at Portland State Univ. and I will (hopefully) find an engineering job. So with 2 middle incomes and little commuting for my wife, what is a good neighborhood. SAfe, Clean, Not ridiculously expensive, well connected, progressive and a real good school system for the 3 year old.

beaverton has better schooling than portland thats all I have to say. If shes working at PSU and you want little commuting then I'd say you'd have to stay in the downtown area but I personally would never like to live there. Parking sucks,theres too many one way streets and people jumping out off the sidewalk. Too hectic for me. I don't think it would be good for a three year old either. I would say maybe somewhere in Beaverton?
