About where is a good place to work in Portland, OR as a Receptionist

Where is a good place to work in Portland, OR as a Receptionist?
I am looking to move in December from San Diego, CA (big change) and am needing some advice on how to get a good job in Portland, OR. Does anyone have any suggestions? Also, when should I start sending in my resume?

Answer 1 :
I worked at Legacy Emanuel Hospital as an admitter. It was a really good job for me at the time. I was in college and they were very flexible with the hours because patients are admitted 24hr/day 7 days/week. They pay pretty well too. The website posts pay scales which is helpful if you're relocating. Other area hospitals hire for the same thing depending on where you want to live. www.legacyhealth.org www.providence.org www.kaiserpermanentejobs.org www.adventisthealthnw.com www.ohsu.edu/hr/irc
Answer 2 :
I don't have any specific suggestions. Look on portland.craigslist.org and www.oregonlive.com for general job listings, however. I would start sending you resume now though. The good thing about Portland being hot is that we have lots of interesting people moving here. The bad thing is that a lot of those people are reasonably well educated and therefore the job market at the level you're talking about is pretty competitive.
Answer 3 :
School districts might be a good place to look. There are agencies that provide services to school districts as well. Some local districts/agencies include: Portland Public Schools, Centennial School District, David Douglas School District, Parkrose School District, Reynolds School District and Gresham School District. Also, Multnomah Education Service District and Clackamas Education Service District. Working for schools is great as you get good benefits and decent pay. If you google those places, you should be able to find the HR department on line and look for any positions. Good luck.
Answer 4 :
the state of Oregon has alot of reception and office type jobs in Portland... here's the website http://www.oregonjobs.org/

About do indoor TV antennas work in Portland,Maine

Do indoor TV antennas work in Portland,Maine?
I need an antenna (hopefully an indoor one) that picks up channels in portland,ME. If you have one, what channels can you get? What antenna should I get that doesn't cost too much?

Answer 1 :
The real question you should be asking is "how strong are the signal as my house". The city doesn't matter, how far you live from the transmitters does. If the signals are not strong enough, no indoor antenna in the world is going to work well at your location. Visit http://www.antennaweb.org and put in your zip code. If you are more than about 5 miles from the transmitters, an indoor antenna is probably not going to work for you. The site will also give you a standard color code for an antenna you can take shopping.
Answer 2 :
Antennaweb is wrong most of the time, and leaves off many channels. Try TVFOOL.COM and plug in your address to get a full report of channels in your area. Stations in the "green zone" are generally strong enough to be picked up by a small indoor antenna. Anything in the yellow or red zone require an attic or roof antenna for good reception. There is no such thing as a "digital antenna", so don't fall for the hype listed on the packaging. You might try a standard rabbit ears with a loop to start with. If you can't get a useful signal it may be time to graduate to an attic or roof antenna. Here is a plot of your general location http://www.tvfool.com/?option=com_wrapper&Itemid=29&q=id%3d81a38e2a5b3fc0 It looks like you have a few channels that are plenty strong, but some others that can't be picked up by an indoor antenna.

About if you live in vancouver washington but work in portland oregon, do you have to pay oregon income tax

if you live in vancouver washington but work in portland oregon, do you have to pay oregon income tax?
I am considering buying a house in Vancouver, just across the river from Portland. Washington has no state income tax. Will I have to still pay Oregon state income tax since my job is in Portland?

Answer 1 :
Yes but it will be refunded if you file an "out of state resident form" with an Oregon tax return.
Answer 2 :
You pay taxes based on your residence. You employer withholds taxes based on where you work. Fine line between the two. Ask you employer they will know for sure.
